Professor Dr. Jin-Ming LIN was born in 1963. He received his BA degree in 1984 and received a PhD degree in analytical chemistry at TokyoMetropolitanUniversity. He had studied and worked in ShowaUniversity and Tokyo Metropolitan University of Japan during 1992-2002. He is currently a full professor of TsinghuaUniversity and Deputy Director of State Key Laboratory of Environmental Chemistry and Ecotoxicology, ChineseAcademy of Sciences. He is a vice chairman of the Division of Analytical Chemistry, Chinese Society of Chemistry, and a member of council of Chinese Society for Chromatography Science. He received several awards for his contributions in chemiluminescence and separation science: Outstanding Young Chemist Award (Chinese Chemical Society, 1992), Young Analyst Award for Flow Injection Analysis (Flow injection Section, Japan Society of Analytical Chemistry, 2000) , Kanton New Century Award (Japan Society of Analytical Chemistry, 2001) and National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars of China ( National Natural Science Foundation of China, 2001).

His current research is focused on microfluidic device, chemiluminescence immunoassay, GC-MS, LC-MS, and capillary electrophoresis for trace persistence toxic substance (PTS). He is the author and co-author of 148 original research papers published in international journals, 18 reviews, 2 books and 12 patents.
